Olga Stays with Us

Thanks to you we have been helping the needy for more than 25 years already!

In 2016, 20 years have passed since Olga Havel died. Throughout the whole year, we commemorated her legacy by the media campaign „Olga Stays with Us“ introducing concrete stories of people to whom the Committee of Good Will - Olga Havel Foundation provided help.

Radek

Radek is 25 and he had never known his parents; he grew up in a state institution for parentless children in Česká Lípa. In 2013, he finished his bachelor studies at the University of Finance and Administration successfully. These days, he continues in the second year of his master's programme and he simultaneously works as executive director of the Vteřina poté (The Second After) organization which helps children growing up in an institutional care. Radek is one of those young people whom the Foundation supported through the Education Fund during his studies.

Anika

Eight-year-old Anika was born with cerebral palsy. She has to rehabilitate intensively every day since her childhood and she needs supervision and assistance in everyday activities. Doctors recommended her to undergo an intensive neurorehabilitation - a comprehensive treatment for patients with CP that is not covered by health insurance at all. The Foundation contributed to Anika’s stay in a rehabilitation facility with the amount of CZK 10,000 via Fund to Help Children with CP project.

Adélka

Adélka is 14 and she is confined to a wheelchair and reliant on help of another person as a result of cerebral palsy. Yet, she goes to a regular school with her assistant’s help and she does sports. An electric wheelchair was significant contribution to her greater autonomy and less dependence on other people. The Foundation has contributed to the purchase of an electric wheelchair for Adela with the amount of CZK 10,000 via the Pathways towards Integration Programme.

Jiří

Jiří is a client of the Domov sv. Anežky centre in Týn nad Vltavou - Čihovice. The centre helps adults with disabilities to integrate into normal life. A protected carpentry workshop, which provides job for seven people with disabilities, is a part of the centre. The Foundation contributed to a purchase of machinery for the production of wood briquettes for the workshop with the amount of CZK 481,000 via the Pathways towards Integration Programme.

Zuzanka

Zuzanka grows up, together with other children, in a state institution for parentless children in Chomutov. The Foundation helped those children to spend their dream holidays abroad at the seaside.
